Kear YFCL
Within KEAR, we have a full-time dedicated team of Community Learning Development (CLD) workers who work collaboratively with teaching staff to deliver the school’s timetable, outcomes and experiences in relation to the Curriculum for Excellence.
The CLD staff from South Lanarkshire Council’s Youth, Family and Community Learning Service are committed to engaging with pupils and their families to build positive relationships and to explore the development of learning opportunities. The YFCL team are based across all our sites and support pupils to recognise their skills and personal achievements, including using awards and accreditation to understand the transferable nature of skills and how they relate to the world of work.
Within the blended learning environment of KEAR, YFCL staff are dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive educational setting that fosters growth and personal development for all students. They employ a variety of teaching and learning strategies that promote active engagement and critical thinking and are committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment that promotes academic and social success for all pupils.
The YFCL staff at KEAR school operate with the aim of:
Facilitating a cohesive high quality learning offer across the full KEAR provision that meets the identified needs of targeted pupils.
- Engage with pupils and their families to build positive relationships and explore the development of learning opportunities across a range of needs.
- Within all KEAR buildings, establish supportive and nurturing relationships with all pupils.
- Develop and sustain appropriate and effective partnerships within the school and with external agencies to collaboratively enhance learning.
- Build youth family and community capacity to improve the outcomes for targeted pupils.
Through their commitment to excellence, YFCL staff play an important role in helping students achieve their full potential to succeed in all areas of their lives.
