Physical Education
The PE Department at KEAR Campus offer a wide range of activities for students through BGE (S1-3) to Senior Phase (S4-6). We have a fully equipped gym for cardio and strength training lessons, as well as a 4G, five-a-side, Astro football pitch. Students at KEAR have options to complete sports such as football, badminton, tennis, boxing, cycling, weightlifting, boccia and basketball during lessons throughout the year.
BGE pupils complete work towards a Prince’s Trust unit focussed on health and wellbeing, and physical activity. This includes discussions around how physical activity can contribute to a healthy lifestyle as well as the effects on the human body. We also research local facilities which support physical activity out with school and look at ways in which they can be more physically active in their everyday lives.
Pupils who decide to pursue the subject in Senior Phase will complete the National 4 Course. Pupils will further explore the impact of which different factors (physical, mental, emotional and social) have on your performance in sport. There are also plenty of opportunities to compete and practice the sports which they enjoy the most.
On Friday afternoons (weather permitting) we have our staff/pupils football match. This is where everyone comes together to compete and round off the week, accompanied by music playing on the big speaker. The department has a relaxed and welcoming environment where fun is at the heart of learning – hope to see you there soon!
